What Does Ibn Sina’s Concept of Temperament Tell Us Today?

İbn Sina’nın Mizaç Anlayışı Bugün Bize Ne Söyler?

Everything is changing so fast today.
Information is increasing, but meaning is decreasing.

And man is still asking the same question:
“Why am I like this?”

Actually, this question is not new.

Centuries ago, Avicenna (Ibn Sina) was also pursuing the same question.

What had Avicenna realized?

Avicenna saw this very clearly:

Every human is different.
And this difference is not just appearance…

It comes from nature itself.

He made sense of humanity through four basic temperaments:

  • Hot
  • Cold
  • Dry
  • Moist

And he said:

A person's body, mind, and behavior are a reflection of this balance.

Why is it still valid today?

Centuries have passed.
But humanity has not changed.

Only the lifestyle has changed.

Even today:

  • Some people get angry quickly
  • Some are introverted
  • Some constantly crave movement
  • Some seek tranquility

And most people position themselves in the wrong place.

Because they don't know themselves.

Avicenna’s approach is still very powerful here:

First, know yourself.
Then, shape your life accordingly.

The biggest mistake in the modern world

Today, the system tells you this:

“Be like everyone else.”

But that is not possible.

Because everyone's temperament is different.

The same diet doesn't work for everyone.
The same lifestyle doesn't make everyone happy.

But people are forced into this.

And then imbalance begins.

My work starts at this point

What I do is actually bringing ancient wisdom to the present day.

Adapting this understanding established by Avicenna
to your life.

Your birth time, your temperament, and your body…

These are all one whole.

And it tells you this:

“How should you live to be in balance?”

Temperament is not a label

Most people think temperament is a classification.

But it is not.

Temperament is not a boundary, but a guide.

It is not there to restrict you,
but to bring you closer to yourself.

Conclusion

What Avicenna said is actually very simple:

Humanity heals when living in accordance with its nature.

This knowledge is not old.
It has just been forgotten.

And perhaps what needs to be done today is this:

Not to learn something new…
To remember.
