Foods Mentioned in the Quran and Their Place in Holistic Nutrition

Kur’an’da Geçen Yiyecekler ve Holistik Beslenmedeki Yeri

Today, the topic of nutrition has become very complicated.

What should we eat?
What should we not eat?
Which diet is correct?

Everyone says something different.

But sometimes I return to this:
Back to the beginning.

Because some knowledge does not change.
We have just forgotten it.

Why are foods mentioned in the Quran?

The Quran is not just a book of worship.

It is also a guide for life.

And in this guide, certain foods are specifically mentioned.

This is not a coincidence.

Because the human body, soul, and mind…
are directly linked to nutrition.

Some highlighted foods

Some foods mentioned in the Quran:

  • Olives
  • Dates
  • Honey
  • Figs
  • Grapes
  • Grains

These are not just food.

They are healing foods.

Olive: The symbol of balance

The olive is referred to in the Quran as "blessed".

This is a very powerful expression.

The olive:

  • Nourishes the body
  • Supports digestion
  • Creates balance

When we look at it from a holistic perspective:
The olive is a food that does not tire the body and brings balance.

Date: Strength and nourishment

Dates are particularly associated with childbirth.

This shows us that:

It is a food that quickly recovers the body and provides strength.

According to temperament:

  • It is supportive for people with a cold temperament
  • It provides balance in cases of low energy

Honey: A source of healing

There is a clear expression for honey in the Quran:

"In it, there is healing for people."

That is very clear.

Honey is not just a sweetener.

  • Supports immunity
  • Repairs the body
  • Is a natural balancer

But what is important is this:

Using what is natural.

Figs and grapes: Light but profound foods

Figs and grapes:

  • Are easy to digest
  • Do not tire the body
  • Provide natural sugar balance

Holistically:

These foods nourish the body without creating a burden.

The real issue: Not what you eat, but what is right for you

There is a very important point here.

Not every food mentioned in the Quran is good for everyone in the same way.

Because:

Every person's temperament is different.

The same food:

  • May be good for one
  • May be heavy for another

That is why in my therapies I look at this:

What is your nature?
What does your body need?

Why does modern nutrition make it difficult?

Today, people:

  • Eat processed foods
  • Drift away from what is natural
  • Have forgotten the seasons

And then the body sends signals.

But no one listens.

My approach

I do not give you a diet.

I show you this:

When are you in balance regarding what you eat?

I combine ancient wisdom with modern life.

But at the center, there is always this:

Your temperament.

Conclusion

The foods mentioned in the Quran remind us of this:

Natural is healing.
But the right thing is what is suitable for you.

And perhaps the most important thing in nutrition is this:

Not more information…
More awareness.
